Meeting times to share... celebrate... and weave life together...
Meeting of the New Generations  ~ Philippine Duchesne Region
Lima 2019

Between the 29th of July and August 9th, 15 RSCJ from Brazil, Peru, Chile and the United States gathered together in Lima, Peru, along with Nancy Durand (PER), Maria Planas (ARU), Mariela Peña (MEX) and Ana Ramos (CHI) who accompanied the group.

It was a time of grace, in a climate of trust, simplicity and intimacy, as the life of the Region continues to be woven together.  In this fabric, we have shared the sacred that dwells deeply in each of us, our gift of being women, the precious heritage of Sophie, and witnessed the different mission and ministries to which we have been sent since our probation experience.  It was also a time to gently touch our own shadows as spaces of hope and fruitfulness. This, with the help of psychologist and writer Rocío Morfín, whom we thank for her wisdom and warmth.

With the certainty of being women inhabited by God, by Ruah, and convinced that this is a gift for the Church and our world, we were sent with a beautiful prayer, as we blessed each other, and were given a Philippine medal, brought directly from Shrine in Saint Charles, by Kathy McGrath (USC).

We used various forms of art to harvest and share the profound beauty of our life lived together during this experience in Lima:

1.  The first is a parable written by one of the participants, Gloria Guerrero (CHI), combining the metaphors of her experience with work of mining the earth for minerals, a work her father did as a miner.

2.  The second is a prayer written from our experience by Iris da Silva Amaro (BRA) along with an image that represents the Region as a colorful woman engaged in the dance of life.

3.  And the final is a poem by a great Nicaraguan writer Gioconda Belli, which took on new and deeper meaning, after these days spent together as the new rscj generations of the Philippine Duchesne Region.
