RSCJ in Sydney for the First Vows
As Mass for the Feast of the Annunciation was celebrated in Sydney, there was joy as Deasy Hartanto professed her first vows in the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Province of Australia-New Zealand on March 25, 2023.
The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Terry Brady, a good friend of many RSCJ, and vows were received by the ANZ Provincial, Lynette Toohey. Diana Hayes RSCJ provided a reflection connecting Mary’s fiat with Deasy’s commitment.
Deasy’s father and brother were able to join us from Surabaya, Indonesia, and her sister from Brisbane. Her mother was unable to be with us but was able to watch on YouTube. We were joined by a number of RSCJ, some of our partners in mission, and friends of Deasy. The YouTube recording made the celebration available to many, including RSCJ, in other parts of the world.
