In the midst of the poverty and violence suffered by the Haitian people, our sisters continue their activities in Balan, and on April 9, they inaugurated the school canteen.

In Haiti, all activities are suspended. They have distributed food to the children from the school.
In Cuba, activities are also suspended, except for breakfast for the elderly. That continues for their survival. Here there are many queues for getting food — but for now, they are able to get it.

The Stuart Center in Washington, D.C., hosted the Sacred Heart Global Citizen Program, bringing together 12 participants from Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States. This year’s focus was "Ecological Transformation through Spirituality."
At the end of the 2017 Spirituality Forum, Margot Bremer rscj from Venezuela presented to Sheila Hammond rscj a precious treasure: a ciborium that according to oral tradition had been given by Sophie to Philippine in 1818 for the mission in the New World.
