Today, 14 January 2016, there have been blasts and gunfire in Jakarta, centered around Thamrin Street, "a major shopping and business district close to foreign embassies and the United Nations offices" (BBC News).
"This year is the Silver Jubilee of my first vows - fifteen of which have been in Indonesia. So much has happened with no plan at all except a total openness and handing over to the Spirit.... For nearly 30 years now, the Japan Province has been having an annual Creativity Workshop. Last summer, a similar Creativity Workshop was held in the Area of Indonesia.
More than 5000 young religious participated in the 2015 World Meeting of Consecrated Women and Men. As Josephine Mbayira rscj (UGK), one of the 16 young RSCJ who joined this celebration, commented: “Religious life is not dying!”

In celebration of WORLD INTERFAITH HARMONY WEEK 2015, the Asia Foundation, ARMC IAIN Ambon, and 49 peacemaker teachers came together for a program on tolerance and peace education with the theme: "Love of God or the Good and Love of the Neighbor." Gerardette Philips rscj (INS) was one of the resource persons in this program.
