Sophie 2017: Celebrating the grace of our vocation

May 25 is the feast day of
Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat,
founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart.

Today we recall her inspiring words and pray that we, too, could give ourselves to the Holy Spirit wholly and without reserve:

Ah!  If only God would grant me the grace to speak to you of the happiness of a soul
who gives herself to the Holy Spirit wholly and without reserve!
If I could tell you what happens within her, if I could picture for you her joy!
She is no longer the one who acts, but God. She moves only to follow God's inspiration.
Everything becomes easy for her: the Holy Spirit has taken possession of her…

In celebration of Sophie's feast, we offer this video put together by Ewa Bartosiewicz rscj (POL) using extracts from the 2017 profession video and photos taken during the ceremony.  As background, we will hear portions of the Los Cantantes Catolicos' song Alma Misionera, which was composed by P. Enrique García Vélez and was a theme song during World Youth Day 2013 in Rio de Janeiro.

Inspired by Sophie, together we celebrate
with joy and thanksgiving the grace of our vocation!
