The International Education Commission
met in Rome on the 16th to the 20th of July.
The focus of this meeting was the refinement of both the description and essential characteristics of the Sacred Heart Educator, and the framing of the elements of a Sacred Heart Education philosophy.
Here are a few photos taken during their time in Rome.
The heat in Rome did not deter them from doing their work.
Living in different countries (the United States, England, Argentina, Japan, Congo, Poland, and Spain),
the Commission has been able to carry on their work prior to this meeting via email and
multilingual Zoom conversations facilitated by Florence de la Villeon rscj (back, first from the right).
This photo was taken during their visit at the Mother House.
The Commission had the opportunity to meet the RSCJ who are participating
in the renewal program organized by the Ongoing Formation Commission.
While mindful that there are several important processes occurring within the Society, the Commission believes that it is essential to seek the input of RSCJ and partners in mission. Hearing from voices across the regions of the Society will enrich their understanding of how the mission of Sacred Heart education is being lived throughout the world. They thus hope to communicate with us soon.
