Becoming the New Province of Africa

On Saturday, June 13, the provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo – Chad and Uganda – Kenya joined to become the new Province of Africa.

The ceremony was held at the Mbikko Formation Community, Njeru at 11 am East Africa time, and was presided over by Msgr. Dr. Richard Kayondo, Vicar General, Lugazi Diocese. Together the participants celebrated a Mass, after which there was a transition ceremony from the Provincial Superior of RDC-TCH, Blandine Basosa, RSCJ and the Provincial Superior of UGK, Redempta Kulundu, RSCJ, to the new Provincial Superior, Marie-Jeanne Elonga, RSCJ and the new Provincial Council, Godelieve Nzuzi, RSCJ, Penina Wambale, RSCJ, Secondina Baitwababo, RSCJ, and Obierge Makiese, RSCJ.
