Covid-19 Update: Brazil

As of 27th March 2020

I have just received the email from Barb in which she presents us with her very real sensitivity to all our provinces, especially to our older sisters. Brazil is in total quarantine and these last days the possibility of contamination is growing. Our land borders, in this very large country, are closed and for almost all other countries as well.

Our community of older sisters in Rio de Janeiro is very well cared for and we have a good system of organization that the coordination team prepares each day. Each community is in quarantine and we communicate by mail and telephone.

The greatest sadness is that there is, in the big cities, an immense population living on the streets as well as a multitude of inhabitants in the favelas.

We intensify our times of prayer in community and we are in solidarity and suffer especially with Italy and Spain.

In great union and sisterhood,

Heloisa Maria, in the name of my sisters in Brazil
