Marta Núñez rscj, provincial of the Antilles, who is in Joigny for the New Provincials Meeting, sent this message today (22 September):

As you know, Puerto Rico has been hit by hurricane Irma and two days ago by hurricane Maria that has been significantly more violent and happened in a moment in which the country was more vulnerable. Although Puerto Rico has been more affected, hurricane Maria also hit Cuba and Haiti. Our Sisters in Puerto Rico are all fine. It has been a very strong experience for them. They feel surrounded by desolation, without electricity, water, telephone and Internet. Shops are empty or flooded. We live in hope that in the next days we will receive aids to let Puerto Rico rise again. Please, send everything you can: products, clothes or anything else. Many families lost their homes, so any help would be welcomed. Thank you all for worrying about our Province and for us.
