A process-exercise on MENTAL MODELS

In preparation for Special Chapter 2021, we offer this process-exercise designed to help groups grow in awareness of mental models. This means becoming more aware of those organised patterns of preconceived thinking and ideas which unconsciously condition our behaviour or thoughts and often influence our emotions. We think this is an important component of the preparation for Special Chapter 2021.

This module on Mental Models includes five documents:

1.  Introduction:  Mental Models This gives an overview and the step-by-step procedure in facilitating the process-exercise.  It also includes the link to the Youtube video that will be used during the process-exercise.

"This material we are offering is designed to be done in groups and is oriented to the one who facilitates the process. It is important that the person who will facilitate the work of the group makes it her own, and facilitates the process according to the characteristics of the group and the time available.

We want groups to walk together, not to be discussion groups; in this way we will accompany each other in a process, not a task, so that we accompany each other in the experience and challenge of opening mind, heart and will, looking ahead to the Special Chapter 2021 with its two topics: new ways of organising ourselves, and sharing resources."

2.  PPT:  Mental Models.   This is the slide presentation that the facilitator can use during the process-exercise.

3.  Siren Songs:  an mp4 extract from a movie

4.  Siren Songs:  a worksheet in Word, so facilitators can make adjustments, as needed

5.  Video: Mental Models for the second phase of the process-exercise.

The objective is to help RSCJ-facilitators to become familiar with the material and to enable them to have the experience of working with it beforehand.

The maximum number of participants in each session is 9 persons
