Mexico: October meeting of the Commission on International Volunteers

The Commission on International Volunteers with Vocation Animation and Volunteer Commission of the Mexican Province

The Commission on International Volunteers (CIV)
met in Mexico on the 7th to the 12th of October 2019.

We met in Mexico City from October 7 to 12 to continue structuring the International Volunteer Program of the Society of the Sacred Heart in order to respond to the different services of our common mission.

We had an opportunity to meet the Vocation Animation and Volunteer Commission of the Province. Their experiences and explorations helped us to reflect and continue to open new horizons for the service.

After the CIV meeting, Yuka met two international volunteers; Daniela, a Mexican volunteer who was sent by the volunteer program of the Province of Mexico to Cuba to help with a summer camp in 2019; and Ines, a French volunteer to Mexico.  Ines was sent by the international volunteer program of the Province of BFN to León, Mexico from September 2019 to February 2020.  It was a great joy for Yuka to get to know her in the actual services of helping the children learning the “living-together” objectives and for the creation of peace.

We thank the Province of Mexico, for their closely detailed care which facilitated our work. Their warm welcome has been an expression of our COR UNUM and they made us feel that we are sisters on the journey.
