The Taiwan Mission in KOC Province Celebrates its 60th Anniversary!

We are very grateful that, with God’s blessing, we were able to celebrate the sixty-year anniversary of this foundation with only 50 Sacred Heart family members present because of the Covid-19 global pandemic. We would like to express our deep gratitude and joy to the Society of the Sacred Heart and to all the RSCJs, alumnae and students of the Sacred Heart family throughout the world who contributed to the foundation of the Taiwan Sacred Heart in 1960.

For this reason, we would like to share a short video of our sixtieth-anniversary thanksgiving Mass Celebrations, which was made by a team from the Sacred Heart Girls’ High School, and an animated movie, “For the Sake of One Child”, which tells the story of the foundation of this community.

The animated movie was made in collaboration with RSCJs from the Taiwan Community; a team from the school, including Penny Lin (coordinator) and Rosa Wang (screenwriter); and a team of professionals, including Yuyang Yang (producer), Xianzhi Gao (music designer and player), and Samuel Sun (director). We really appreciate the dedication of Samuel Sun and of all the people who generously contributed their time over the past two years in order to complete this film.

The stories in the movie are real-life experiences and they give us new ideas and inspiration. It is not only a way to honor the past, but also to look towards the future with hope.

We pray that the Taiwan Community of KOC Province will continue to be deeply rooted in the heart of Jesus and will keep giving life by remembering the words of Janet Erskine Stuart:

“This is part of the story and the story is God’s love for you and yours for Him.”
