Our Mission

The urgency of the needs of the world and the call of the local Churches demand of us creative responses in conformity with the spirit of the Society.

In each province, according to the diversity of our cultures, we discern the places and the concrete means of our common educational service in the line of our tradition, marked by love for youth and missionary spirit, we carry out this service of education mainly in these wider fields (Const. 12-13): education in schools, human development and promotion of justice, and spiritual accompaniment and pastoral work. We work in these fields from a perspective of justice, peace, and integrity of creation.

Our commitment to Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)

“We hope that all who pursue justice and peace for humankind and creation will see themselves as artisans of hope. Our joint efforts and collective work contribute to an ongoing process of weaving a new social fabric. As artisans of hope, we derive courage and confidence from our educational mission and Sacred Heart spirituality in a world that calls for just use of power, structural and systemic transformation, an ethic of caring, and openness to welcoming people on the move.” JPIC Document, “Being Artisans of Hope in Our Blessed and Broken World.”
