The provincials of Europe met at the Villa Lante in Rome from 12th-16th March 2018. Here is a summary of their meetings, which included certain days with the Central Team and the teams responsible for Initial Formation in Europe.

The Central Team’s Visit to Malta on the 12th to the 16th of February was the first one on their European tour of provinces.

The Society of the Sacred Heart in Malta passed on the running of the school at St. Julian’s to the Archdiocese.

On the 5th of September, the provincials of Europe met. Aideen Kinlen, the group’s executive secretary, gives a brief description of their meeting.

The CEU ongoing formation commission (Ishpriya and Margaret Fühles) with Gitti Linhart and Erzsi Szilagyi, organised a meeting for European RSCJ. It was held in Budapest from the evening of Thursday the 3rd to the evening of Saturday the 5th April.

The new structure for the governance and leadership in Malta began on the Feast of St Joseph, March 19, 2014. Jane Maltby has been named superior of Malta for the next three years. She will be assisted by Carmen Valentino who is the resident Delegate in Malta.

This new structure is a “covenant” model in which agreements are made with Malta and various groups for certain aspects of their life. Jane will be the canonical superior, while the school will continue to be part of the IRS network of schools, and the motherhouse will support the administration of the finances as needed.
