On February 24, 2021 at 4:00 pm CET (Rome time), at a virtual event sponsored by UISG, Orbis Books and the Society of the Sacred Heart, Maria Cimperman, RSCJ presented her book, Religious Life for our World: Creating Communities of Hope. The book was then discussed by Sister Christine Mwale, OP, and Sister Catherine Jones, SMSM. The event was held in English with interpretation into Spanish.
This book brings together God’s call, the cries of the world and of the earth today, and charisms in consecrated life in a way that dynamically engages the vows, prayer, community, and ministry for the particular time and contexts in which we live. Here is a valuable theological and pastoral resource for the conversion, transformation, and revitalization needed in consecrated life today.
Maria Cimperman, RSCJ, is director of the Center for the Study of Consecrated Life and associate professor of theological ethics at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago. She is co-editor (with Roger Schroeder, SVD) of Engaging Our Diversity: Interculturality and Consecrated Life Today (Orbis 2020).
