Brief interview with Albertine Masunzwene Abeti

What motivated you to become an RSCJ?

It was a call from the Lord that I felt within me, an inner voice to be united to Him and to make Him known to my brothers and sisters in the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

To be a religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for me is to live and witness the love of His heart.

Probation was a time of grace, through which I deepened my relationship with Christ and with my sisters. It helped me to live interculturality well and was also an opportunity for me to sit down and entrust myself to Jesus, in order to learn from Him new ways of building our "One Body" in all aspects of our life.

How do you feel about it?

I express my gratitude to the Lord and to the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for all the gifts I have received. My final commitment to the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a response of love that I freely give to the Lord.

This is the meaning I give to my consecration: it is a love story that ends today with a "definitive yes, an offering of my life" for the mission I will assume in my province and in society.

"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. I call you friends, because I have made known to you all that I have learned from my Father."
- Jn 15:15
