Christmas at the Mother House

We celebrated Christmas at the Mother House last week, starting with a series of games in which the sisters and lay staff competed to complete awkward or difficult tasks. We then took turns smashing a piñata until it finally exploded with candy. After we gathered up all of the candy, we enjoyed an Italian lunch together in the community dining room, topped off by coffee and homemade tiramisu. The Christmas elves from the Finance Office and Secretariat then presented the gift from the staff to the community, and distributed the matching, bound agendas that we will use throughout the year. It was a chance for all of us to spend time together, to chat, joke, and laugh after all the hard work of the Special Chapter.
