Here is a message from Gerardette Philips rscj, Area Superior of Indonesia:

Dear Sisters,

We in Indonesia thank you very much for your concern and help. This is the gift of our Cor Unum.

Our President visited right away and relief work has begun; no groups are allowed yet except the military. Today’s papers say 632 injured, 90 lost, 18,000 evacuated, and 494 dead. This is the media but for sure it is more.

This island of Sulawesi is far from where we are, we are safe. Several have asked if any of our sisters are from the place where the Tsunami took place. No, none of our sisters are from there. I called the bishop's house of that diocese and they are safe as well. Of course we are all sad at the loss of  families and homes of so many. Once we can get there, for sure we will help.

We count on your prayer and be sure of our prayer for you.

Love,
Gera rscj
