A conference in honor of Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne, who went to the frontiers of her world: How is the Society of the Sacred Heart going to the frontiers of our day?

On Friday, June 29, 2018, a sculpture of Saint Philippine was unveiled and blessed by the Most Rev. Robert J. Carlson, archbishop of St. Louis, and Sheila Hammond rscj, provincial of the Society of the Sacred Heart, United States – Canada Province.

At the end of the 2017 Spirituality Forum, Margot Bremer rscj from Venezuela presented to Sheila Hammond rscj a precious treasure: a ciborium that according to oral tradition had been given by Sophie to Philippine in 1818 for the mission in the New World.

“The writings of Saint Philippine… constitute a rich source of information about her missionary call and the sacrifices involved, the primitive life of the first years on the Missouri frontier, and the development of the Catholic Church and the Society of the Sacred Heart in North America during thirty-four years.”
