More than 5000 young religious participated in the 2015 World Meeting of Consecrated Women and Men. As Josephine Mbayira rscj (UGK), one of the 16 young RSCJ who joined this celebration, commented: “Religious life is not dying!”

Sixteen young RSCJ, including the probanists, attended the World Meeting for Young Consecrated Men and Women held in Rome on 15-19 September 2015.

Before, I met God in nature, in silence and in harmony. With the passing of time I had the grace of discovering God where it might seem that He is not present. There, in misery, violence, poverty… a huge emptiness. However, the greater the emptiness, the greater still did I find the Love of God to fill this emptiness, this vacuum.

I love our charism of discovering and making known His Love. I think that is what the world needs, above all in the difficult times in which we live now. I think it is always a challenge to live it in the present, now, in reality.

I am a woman who has been born twice; a woman born, and re-born. The first birth had its origin…

Those who are the most poor have taught me the ways of Jesus. They’ve taught me how to be, how to welcome, about the value of the simple things in daily living, about the sacred, about the human. I continue to try bringing about the mission of Jesus and the Kingdom, through living simply with those who are the most poor, through being a sister, and through popular education. May those who are poor and those who are young continue to be my passions and may they continue to challenge me, inviting me ever onward as I follow Jesus.

A gathering of young religious was held on May 2-3, 2015 in Paris, as part of the Year of Consecrated Life.

This prayer is based on the words of Jesus: “My peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you; a peace the world cannot give. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27). It is the response in faith of our elderly Sisters in the Province of Mexico.
