Margarita Bofarull appointed to Board of Directors of the Pontifical Academy for Life

We joyfully share with you that on October 15, 2022, Pope Francis appointed Margarita Bofarull as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pontifical Academy for Life (PAV).

Margarita had been a corresponding member of the PAV since 2017. In February of last year, Pope Francis appointed her as an Ordinary Member of the PAV. Now the Pope has renewed the Board of Directors of this Pontifical Academy.

As recorded in the Bulletin of the Holy See and in the Osservatore Romano, the five members of the new Board of Directors of the PAV are:

Msgr. Noël Simard, Bishop of Valleyfield (Canada); Msgr. Philippe Bordeyne, President of the Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II for the Sciences of Matrimony and the Family; Father Jacques Koudoubi Simporé, M.I., the Rector of the Saint Thomas Aquinas University and Director of the Pietro Annigoni Biomolecular Research Center in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso); Sister Margarita Bofarull Buñuel, R.S.C.J., Professor of Moral Theology at the Central American University José Simeón Cañas in Antiguo Cuscatlán, El Salvador; Professor Laura Palazzani, Professor of Philosophy and Law at the Libera Università Maria Santissima Assunta in Rome, Italy.

We are grateful for the trust that this appointment represents and for Margherita’s availability for this service to the Church. We accompany her with our prayers and interest.
