Since this year the Feast of Madeleine Sophie follows Pentecost, we pray during the novena for Pentecost with the words of Madeleine Sophie about the Holy Spirit, which mean so much to us:

If I were able to express to you the happiness of a soul that gives itself entirely and without reserve to the Holy Spirit...it is no longer it that acts; it is God Himself, and it acts only upon His inspirations. Everything becomes easy...and if the happiness of a single person is so great, what would not be the happiness of a whole Society which would let itself be guided entirely by the Holy Spirit...what peace, what union and, at the same time, how many things would we then be able to achieve?"

On May 25, we will celebrate Madeleine Sophie in our community, with the Eucharist, hoping that we will be able to pray together with the group of our associates in the evening, despite COVID.

The students of the school plan a “Sophie’s Spirit Day” with a celebration in the garden followed by different activities. The goal for these activities this year is “Social Awareness”- with the motto “Get in Touch”, with special attention given to their partner school, St. Bernadette, in Jinja, Uganda.

In preparation for the Feast, the younger students have written letters to Madeleine Sophie and weave cloths with multi-coloured threads (see photographs).
