Sapporo Sacred Heart was founded during 1963, with the Second Vatican Council still in session. The aim of this new school was to provide an “education open to the world”. In recent years, the school has conducted more than 20 study abroad programs and exposure trips, including an annual UN Study Tour to New York.

From May 5 to July 7, the Sacred Heart Institute for Sustainable Futures in Tokyo, Japan held the “Ukrainian and Russian Children’s Art Exhibition” with the hope that the exhibition would help to spread the message of peace on earth.

On July 8th, former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot to death in Nara, Japan. We feel a strong sense of outrage over this violence and sincerely pray for the repose of Mr. Abe.
