"Sophie Barat showed inventiveness and mobility when dealing with epidemics, and her practical insight led her to take decisions quickly." Read more about Sophie's response to the epidemics of her time in this reflection by Phil Kilroy rscj.
The Central Team invites us to participate in Laudato Si' Week, perhaps as a way of preparing for the feast of Sophie.
An invitation "for believers of all religions to unite spiritually this 14 May for a day of prayer, fasting, and works of charity, to implore God to help humanity overcome the coronavirus pandemic."
Here we share some "prayer spaces" located in different parts of the Society of the Sacred Heart. The presentation ends with reflection questions offered by the JPIC International Team.
The Society of the Sacred Heart is an active member of JCoR, the Justice Coalition of Religious. It is a collaborative endeavour of 19 Roman Catholic religious organizations.
As we grapple with fear and uncertainty that may threaten us during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, we also experience a deep call to prayer, an invitation to silence, and a challenge to "ponder all these in our hearts."
Happy news during this Covid-19 pandemic: On 15 April, Maria Josepha Hsu rscj turned 100!
