Saturday, March 28, was a joyful and historic day for the new province of CEI (Central Europe and the Islands), as Zsófia Trásy made her First Vows in Budapest, in a Mass at Holy Family parish.
After at least four years of initial formation, all RSCJ make vows of poverty, obedience and chastity, and commit themselves to the service of education. The Church asks all religious to initially make their vows temporarily, even if their deepest desire is to say “forever” right from the start, and so Zsófia made her ‘first vows’ for three years, to be renewed until she can apply for and begin the process of preparation for perpetual vows.
The Mass (mostly in Hungarian) was livestreamed via the parish’s YouTube and can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8PBxpI6qUU
We can assure Zsófia of our prayer, and of the love of her sisters around the world, as she commits herself wholeheartedly to our life and mission, and begins this new stage in her journey with God. May Zsófia be the first of many First Vows in CEI!
