St. Madeleine Sophie's feast on May 25 is fast approaching. Here are some resources for prayer or reflection that are available on websites of some Provinces.
2015 marks the 150th year after the death of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, foundress of the Society of the Sacred Heart. As we begin this year, we "listen" to her conference on New Year's Eve of 1855.
On this feast of Rose Philippine Duchesne, we read an exchange of letters between her and Madeleine Sophie Barat, written during the beginnings of the mission with the Potawatomis.
This month of October we close the centennial of Janet Erskine Stuart and celebrate the feast of Mater Admirabilis. Juliet Mousseau RSCJ (USC) offers us this reading from "The Prayer in Faith" about spiritual lessons we might learn from Mary.
"What most people do not know is that Pauline Perdrau continued to paint copies of the original Mater Admirabilis throughout her long life, though she was the first to acknowledge that she was never able to reproduce the face of the original." (Margaret Phelan RSCJ)
In celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the Superior General of the Society of the Sacred Heart writes a letter to the Religious of the Sacred Heart.
